ラファエロについて
ラファエロ・サンティは、美術の三大巨匠（ルネサンスの三大巨匠）と評される芸術家の1人です。
現在は画家として有名ですが、建築家でもありました。
幼少期～青年
1483年4月6日にウルビーノ公国にて誕生。
父親はウルビーノの宮廷画家ジョバンニ・サンティ
8歳で画家のペルジーノの工房で修行をする。
※ラファエロの初期の作品は、ペルジーノの影響を受けていると言われています。
10代のラファエロの自画像
フィレンツェ（1504年～）
21歳でフィレンツェへ。
レオナルド・ダ・ヴィンチに大きな影響を受ける。

ローマ
25歳の頃、ローマ法王ユリウス2世にローマに招かれる。
ヴァチカン宮殿で『ラファエロの間』を制作
1520年、37歳の若さでこの世を去る。
プチエピソード
生前、ラファエロはサン・ピエトロ大聖堂の建築を任されていましたが、建設の途中でラファエロが亡くなってしまったので、サン・ピエトロ大聖堂の建築は、ラファエロと同じく美術の三大巨匠と呼ばれるミケランジェロが引き継ぐことになりました。
